Howden HR Apprenticeship 2026

Howden's HR Apprenticeship is a one-year, paid programme based in Milton Keynes starting September 2026. As an HR Apprentice you will work within the HR team supporting onboarding, maintaining employee records in Workday, responding to HR queries, contributing to weekly reporting, and supporting administrative tasks.

One day each week is dedicated to studying with a trainer to achieve a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification in HR.

You will join a structured year-long development programme alongside peers and receive on-the-job coaching from experienced HR Advisors. Tasks include preparing new-joiner paperwork, updating HR systems, observing employee relations casework, and contributing to projects focused on wellbeing and training.

No prior insurance or HR experience is required; the programme is designed to teach you the necessary skills.

The role is office-based in Milton Keynes with a salary of £23,000 per year. The application process includes an online application (no CV required - upload a blank document), an online gamified assessment, a pre-recorded video interview, and an in-person assessment centre (travel costs for the assessment centre will be reimbursed).
