IgnitED's five-day Summer Careers Programme at the University of Brighton (Falmer) offers 14-17 year olds a practical introduction to career pathways and a taste of university life. Across four campus days and one day of employer visits, participants take part in hands-on workshops, industry-led mentoring, employer site visits and group challenges designed to build workplace skills and awareness of different professions.
Activities are fully supervised and delivered in line with safeguarding procedures. The programme runs Monday 10 August to Friday 14 August 2026 with a typical daily schedule of approximately 09:00-8:00-6:30 (09:00 016:30 on-campus learning).
The Falmer campus is the primary venue; a residential option is available at the University of Portsmouth for students who cannot reasonably commute. Travel information (Falmer train station within a five-minute walk) and supervised accommodation options are provided or discussed on request.
Booking information: Early Bird and standard paid places are available, with bursaries and discounts offered to support widening access. Participants receive a certificate of achievement and a mentor reference; families begin registration via the IgnitED online booking form and will be contacted by the team to confirm availability and payment arrangements.
