This two-week Architecture Academic Insights programme (ages 13-15) introduces students to the fundamentals of architectural design, history and practice in Cambridge. Through hands-on projects, guided walks, interactive workshops and guest speaker sessions, participants explore core concepts such as spatial design, scale, proportion, sustainability, and the relationship between form and function.
Students complete sketching, model-making and conceptual presentations and finish the programme with a personal architecture project.
Teaching is delivered by experienced architecture tutors and supported by Cambridge undergraduate mentors. The programme features small class sizes (average 7), 1:1 tutor support, and personalised evaluations.
The academic offer comprises around 40 hours of tuition across the two-week course and includes structured workshops, tutorials and feedback sessions.
Practical and pastoral arrangements include 13 nights' college accommodation in Cambridge with meals provided, evening social activities, a formal graduation ceremony, and two full-day excursions (including Oxford and London). Travel to and from the programme is not included; airport transfer options and additional insurance can be arranged separately.
