Immerse Education Computer Science Summer School Cambridge

Immerse Education’s Computer Science Summer School in Cambridge offers students aged 13-18 a university-style introduction to computing in a historic academic setting. Younger participants begin with computational thinking and the basics of programming, while older students move into more advanced themes such as algorithms, data structures, software engineering principles, and introductory AI and machine learning.

The programme is designed to build problem-solving ability, confidence, and independent thinking through interactive, tutor-led learning. Students take part in in-depth academic sessions, a personal research project, and one-to-one tutoring with experienced mentors.

The course also awards a certificate of achievement, and eligible students can opt in for an additional UCAS points experience to strengthen future university applications. Across the programme, participants gain practical skills and a clearer understanding of what studying computer science at a higher level can involve.

The summer school is delivered on campus in Cambridge and includes accommodation, meals, and extracurricular activities in the course package. Participants stay in Cambridge colleges and enjoy a residential experience that combines academic study with social activities, formal dining, and a wider taste of student life.
