Isaac Science Y12 Taster Day

Isaac Science’s Y12 Taster Day is a free in-person Physics masterclass delivered in collaboration with the University of Cambridge. It is aimed at academically able Year 12 students who are studying Physics and are considering Physics or Engineering at university.

The event is designed to give students a taste of Cambridge-style undergraduate teaching while stretching them beyond the A level syllabus. The masterclass includes a taster lecture from a leading academic member of staff, time to discuss the ideas covered and ask questions, and an introduction to the Cambridge admissions process.

The session is modelled on the University’s undergraduate teaching structure and focuses on mechanics and problem solving. A separate 45-minute admissions talk with Q&A is offered for adult family members, with a booking link shared with students who receive a confirmed place.

Students should bring pens, paper, a calculator and a device for accessing online questions, and they are expected to book their own place on the workshop.
