The Japan Society’s Sixth Form Japan Day is a one-day event for sixth form students who want to explore Japanese and Japan-related studies at university. It introduces the subject area, the kinds of university courses available, and the wider opportunities that studying Japan can open up.
The programme combines taster lectures, language workshops, hands-on cultural activities, student and alumni talks, and a university exhibition where attendees can speak directly with university representatives. It is designed both for students already studying Japanese and for complete beginners, so prior knowledge is not required.
The event is open to sixth formers in the UK and attendance requires permission from school and a parent or guardian. Entry is free, places are limited, and travel bursaries are available for students who would otherwise struggle to attend.

- Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Booking is initially limited to 18 places per school.
- Beginners and students already taking Japanese are both welcome.
FREE entry. Failure to attend without cancelling by the stated cancellation deadline results in a £5 per student fee invoiced to the registered school.
