JCB's Level 4 Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship gives you hands-on experience working for a major manufacturer of agricultural and industrial equipment while you study. You'll develop practical engineering skills and technical knowledge through on-the-job work and structured learning aimed at progressing you towards Chartership in Manufacturing Engineering.

The programme typically takes two-and-a-half to three years (typically 36 months). You will spend one day a week at the JCB Academy and the remainder of your working week in your allocated part of the business, contributing to research, design and development of machinery.

Apprentices earn while they learn (salary c. A318,000, increasing year on year) and JCB state that successful completion guarantees a role with the company.

Entry requirements include an A level in a relevant subject or a Level 3 engineering apprenticeship/Advanced Diploma plus at least four GCSEs including Maths and English at C/4 or above. The application process is online: upload your CV, complete screening and online psychometric/behavioural assessments, and attend an assessment centre (interview and group exercise) if progressed; a formal offer is made to successful candidates.
