The JCB Level 2 Welding Apprenticeship is a practical, hands-on 14-month programme that begins with 17-19 weeks of full-time training at The JCB Academy followed by a full-time placement in one of JCB's business units. Trainees spend classroom and workshop time developing core welding techniques before applying those skills on production tasks within JCB.
You will learn how to position, prepare and check welding equipment, handle and maintain consumables, prepare welding areas, and carry out rigorous testing and quality assessments to JCB standards. The programme is designed to build industry-standard welding skills and prepare you for a career in welding.
Salary is approximately £15,000 (increasing year on year).

- GCSEs including Maths and English at D/3 or above
- Applicants must be 18 by the February following the September start
- Good hand-eye coordination and strong attention to detail
- Motivated, willing to learn and dedicated to the programme
