Join JCT600 Volkswagen as a Service Technician/Mechanic apprentice and gain hands-on experience maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles from routine servicing to complex diagnostics. You’ll work with traditional, hybrid and electric engines and learn to use diagnostic equipment, test parts and systems, complete inspections, undertake repairs (clutches, gearboxes, brakes, suspension) and maintain accurate workshop documentation.
This is a structured three-year apprenticeship delivered in the workplace combined with block-release training provided by INSPIRO LEARNING LIMITED. Training includes virtual classroom sessions, face-to-face block release at the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre and practical on-the-job mentoring.
On successful completion you will receive the Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle), a Certificate in Automotive Refrigerant Handling and brand-specific certifications.
Practical details: start date Monday 1 December 2025; 40 hours a week (Monday-Friday 08:30-17:30, with possible Saturdays/shifts); location Centurion Park, York, YO30 4WW. First-year wage £15,704 (then may increase depending on age).
