The Jobs We Never Imagined - in the Age of Generative AI

The Jobs We Never Imagined - in the Age of Generative AI is a one-day, people-first event hosted by the NAIADES Network at Swansea University that explores new jobs, skills and opportunities emerging from Generative AI. The conference combines keynote presentations, interactive sessions and hands-on masterclasses to help educators, students and industry partners understand how AI is reshaping careers and learning.

Attendees will take part in collaborative working sessions designed to co-create practical, local solutions and build connections across Wales' education, policy and industry ecosystem. The programme includes inspiring keynote speakers, interactive workshops (including GenAI prompting and sector-specific sessions such as AI & language and archaeology & AI), plenary discussions, networking and a catered lunch.

The day emphasises practical outcomes; insights will feed into a subsequent report, book and digital platform. Who should attend: FE and HE educators, school leaders and teachers, policymakers, industry partners and students aged 16-24.

The event is scheduled for 3 July 2026 at Swansea University (Fulton House, Lecture Rooms B & C) and is intended for participants who want to shape how AI is used in education and work.
