Welcome visitors at reception, support patients and families on the inpatient unit, or help with fundraising and community events across London. Choose a people-focused role and give something back, with regular volunteering taking a few hours each week and induction and DBS checks where needed.

St John’s Hospice is looking for kind and compassionate volunteers to support patients, families, staff and visitors across its services in North, West and Central London. Volunteers help keep the hospice running smoothly and contribute to compassionate end-of-life care in the community.

There are a wide range of regular volunteering roles available, including supporting the inpatient unit, welcoming people at reception, helping in the charity shop, assisting with fundraising and community engagement, and taking part in events and collection activities. The hospice says volunteers can make new friends, gain skills, build confidence and strengthen their CV while playing a meaningful role in their community.

These opportunities suit people who have spare time and want to give something back in a practical, people-focused way. Typical volunteering is a regular commitment of a few hours each week, and the hospice provides support through application, induction and DBS processes where needed.
