Want to make a real difference in your local area? Join Kent County Council’s Family Hub volunteering to support families, choose roles that suit you, gain training and hands-on skills, and fit volunteering around your schedule—build experience, meet people and boost your CV.

Kent County Council’s Family Hub volunteering programme offers flexible ways to support children, young people and families in your local community. Volunteers can fit their hours around their schedule, whether that means a few hours a week or helping out at occasional events, and training is provided so you can develop new skills while contributing to something meaningful.

There are several role types to choose from. You can help families with children aged 0 to 5 in groups such as Stay and Play or Little Talkers, support children and young people aged 5+ at groups and events, or take on a Youth Peer Mentor role.

The page also highlights non-family-facing opportunities such as administration, gardening, building maintenance and creative projects. Applicants are asked to say which role they want, provide their availability, explain why they want to volunteer, and include two character references.
