Kenton Theatre - Breakthrough Theatre Operations Assistant (Henley-on-Thames)

Breakthrough is a six-month employability placement designed to give young people workplace experience and employability skills in the creative industries. This Theatre Operations Assistant placement at the Kenton Theatre, Henley-on-Thames, offers hands-on experience across front of house, box office, hospitality (bar and coffee bar), stock and merchandise management, volunteer coordination and administrative support for the theatre education programme (Kenton Youth).

You will also support marketing, fundraising and audience engagement activity including event support and the theatre's annual pantomime. The placement is intended to be shaped around the individual’s interests and development goals, offering experience in operations, customer service, promotion and community engagement in a small regional theatre setting.

The placement runs from 28 September 2026 to 28 March 2027 and requires availability for the full six-month period. Applicants must meet the Breakthrough eligibility criteria and will need to download the job description and submit the Breakthrough 2026 application form via the Artswork listing.

The role is based in-person at the Kenton Theatre in Henley-on-Thames and is aimed at young people with little or no previous experience in the arts sector who want to gain practical experience and progress into cultural sector employment.
