Unlocking AI & Computer Science is an eight-week online programme from King's College London for girls who are interested in computer science and AI. It brings together students who want to explore the subject in more depth, hear from researchers, and find out what studying the field at university can look like.
Across the weekly online sessions, participants hear interactive talks on AI and computer science, learn about current research and technology, and have the chance to ask questions of current students. The programme also includes a session on UCAS applications and finishes with a panel discussion featuring women working in tech, giving a wider picture of possible pathways into the sector.
The programme is designed mainly for students in Year 12 and Year 13, with some Year 10 and Year 11 students also able to apply if places are available. It is free to attend, and participants who attend most of the sessions can receive a digital certificate of completion.
Sessions are recorded, so it is possible to catch up if one is missed.
