Hear two senior academics unpack spacetime philosophy and quantum mechanics at the nanoscale in one evening. Explore how modern physics challenges ideas about space, time and reality, then discover experiments with microscopic objects probing quantum behaviour.
King’s College London’s Inaugural Lecture Series brings together Professors to present their research, education, innovation and wider impact. This special cross-faculty event celebrates the academic excellence of King’s across Arts & Humanities and Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences, and offers attendees the chance to hear from two senior academics in one evening.
Professor Eleanor Knox will speak on spacetime philosophy and how modern physics challenges older ways of thinking about space, time and the foundations of reality. Professor James Millen will present a talk on quantum mechanics at the nanoscale, exploring how quantum behaviour is being investigated through experiments with microscopic objects and what these studies may reveal about physics, gravity and emerging technologies.
