Help run Afternoon Tea days and weekly Fish & Chip Fridays, setting tables, welcoming guests and serving meals and drinks. You’ll also clear tables, wash up and clean the dining area after each event.
The Kirkwood is looking for Volunteer Catering Assistants to help run its much-loved Afternoon Tea days and weekly Fish & Chip Fridays. This volunteering role is all about helping create a welcoming dining experience for guests, with a friendly, social atmosphere where people can enjoy a meal, refreshments and conversation.
Typical tasks include preparing the dining area before service, setting tables, arranging seating, welcoming attendees, serving meals and drinks, and offering support to anyone who needs help carrying food or finding a seat. Volunteers also help clear tables, wash up, tidy the kitchen and clean the dining area after the event, while following food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
The role is a chance to gain insight into the charity sector, build confidence, learn new skills and meet new people. The Kirkwood says volunteers can give their time when it suits them, whether they are in school, at work or simply busy with life, making it a flexible way to support a local charity and make a real difference.
Free to volunteer.
