HONK! Lancashire Youth Streetband is a lively performing streetband for young musicians who want to play contemporary beats and tunes, improvise, and create new music together. The group welcomes committed players who bring energy and enthusiasm, and is particularly looking for percussionists, drum kit players, brass players and wind players.
Rehearsals take place at Coppull Primary School in Chorley, and the band prepares for performances at festivals and other events during the summer. The activity is designed for young people who enjoy making music as part of an ensemble and want to develop their confidence, musicianship and performance skills.
The registration page shows HONK! as part of Lancashire Music Service’s Silver subscription, with access to a range of ensemble activities including online sessions, local music centre ensembles, inspiration ensembles, and the Lancashire Youth Folk Group and Street Band.
