Get your first experience of orchestral playing in a county ensemble for musicians around grade 2-5. Rehearse with inspiring leaders and professional players, build confidence, and take part in concerts, residential and tour experiences.
Lancashire Schools Symphony Orchestra is one of Lancashire Music Service’s county ensembles, designed to give young instrumentalists their first experience of playing orchestral music. It is a preparatory ensemble for the Lancashire Youth Symphony Orchestra and brings together like-minded young musicians from across the county.
Participants work with inspiring leaders and professional musicians, building ensemble skills and confidence through regular rehearsals and performance opportunities. The orchestra welcomes players of approximately grade 2-5 standard and is open to young musicians who can play an instrument.
The ensemble rehearses on Sundays and may operate online or face to face depending on the session. Alongside rehearsals, the programme includes concert opportunities and other shared musical experiences, including residential and tour elements across the year.
