This immersive two-week summer programme based in Cambridge is designed for high-achieving 16-17-year-old high school students who want an intensive introduction to law. Delivered on campus at Sidney Sussex College, the course combines small-group academic seminars, interactive tutorials, and masterclasses that cover core legal concepts, the role of juries, human rights and international law, and practical case work.
Students complete two independent pieces of assessed work and receive personalised tutor feedback. Students take part in small seminars (maximum eight students), 1:1 or 2:1 tutorial sessions, city excursions and enrichment activities, plus evening social and pastoral support.
Day and residential (boarding) options are available; residential tiers include half-board meals, accommodation in single or twin rooms (tier dependent), and scheduled airport transfers from London Heathrow on official arrival/departure days. The programme concludes with a graduation session and award of a certificate and a letter of recommendation.
The course emphasises critical thinking, analytical skills and independent study to prepare participants for further study in law or related subjects. Tutors include practitioners and academics with expertise in constitutional theory, public law, international human rights, and AI ethics.
