Want to shape the future using the past? Join Leaf's five-week online course and explore history through Oxbridge-style tutorials, build critical thinking and debate skills, and connect with peers and academics - boost your uni and career readiness.

Prize: Top participants receive custom mentorship, referrals to selective next-steps, access to funding, and ongoing support.

History to Shape History is a five-week online programme run by Leaf that teaches students how to apply the lessons of history to make a positive impact on the future. The course is explicitly designed for students aged 15-19 who have not yet started university and is especially suitable for those also interested in economics, politics, philosophy, or law.

The page lists dates as "19 January to 1 March" for the cohort described.

Participants join Oxbridge-style tutorials and facilitated weekly discussion groups with a small cohort of peers. The programme includes talks and live Q&As with professionals using historical perspective to tackle real-world problems, mentorship, support with competitive university applications and Oxbridge/Ivy interviews, interactive online materials, quizzes, and opportunities to pursue research projects such as EPQs.

Additional community features include a Discord channel, paired 1:1s, and small-group breakout sessions.

The programme is offered on a sliding-cost basis with tiers according to ability to pay (free if needed). High-performing participants are offered ongoing support: custom mentorship, referrals to selective next steps, access to funding, and alumni opportunities.

Leaf highlights strong alumni outcomes and links to further resources and FAQs on their site.
