Leisure Team Member L2 Apprentice - GREENWICH LEISURE LTD

This is a Level 2 Leisure Team Member apprenticeship with Greenwich Leisure Ltd (GLL) based at South Norwood Leisure Centre in Croydon, London. You will be a permanent member of the leisure centre team rotating through roles such as General Assistant, Recreation Assistant, Concierge, Swimming Teacher and Fitness Instructor depending on achieved qualifications and centre needs.

The apprenticeship combines on-the-job duties with off-the-job training delivered by SCL Education & Training Limited.

You will gain practical skills including customer service, gym inductions, health screening, planning and delivering exercise sessions, lifeguarding and swimming-teaching duties. Training includes National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), STA awards/certificates in teaching swimming and a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification.

The role is 40 hours per week (hours to be confirmed at interview) and includes regular workshops, reviews and ongoing CPD requirements.

The apprenticeship starts Monday 8 December 2025, lasts approximately 18 months, and offers a first-year wage of £15,704 (apprentice/National Minimum Wage rules apply). Essential entry requirements include GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4 and being a competent swimmer (pass a swim test as part of interview).
