Grow fruit, vegetables, flowers and plants across two community gardens, with tasks from sowing and pruning to grass cutting. No gardening experience is needed: the team supports you as you learn, and tasks can be adapted to suit your needs.

This volunteering role is with Lets Grow Preston, a community organisation that runs two community gardens in the Preston area. Volunteers help grow fruit and vegetables, flowers and plants, supporting a project where many activities and groups are volunteer-led.

The role is flexible, so you can get involved as little or as much as you like, and tasks can be adapted to suit your needs.

Typical activities include planting, weeding, sowing, food growing, pruning and grass cutting. No previous gardening experience is needed, as the team will help you get started and support you as you learn.

The project uses social and therapy in horticulture to help people build confidence and develop practical skills.

Lets Grow Preston also works with local community groups and schools, runs workshops and attends local events. Volunteers may also help support foodbanks and surplus produce collections. Accessibility features include wheelchair accessible toilets and gardens, and ongoing support and training are provided.
