Join the school as a Facilities Operative Apprentice supporting site security, daily maintenance, cleaning and general site care. The role involves opening and locking the premises, responding to emergency call-outs, inspecting the site for hazards, maintaining lighting and alarm systems, supervising contractors, and carrying out porter and support duties such as setting up rooms and moving furniture.

You will spend most of the apprenticeship working on the job and also have time away from work for specialist training with the training provider THE SKILLS PARTNERSHIP LIMITED. The training is for the Facilities services operative (level 2) standard and covers health, safety and environmental legislation, standard operating procedures, basic repairs and maintenance, inspections, record keeping and other facilities management tasks.

The apprenticeship is employed through Inspire ATA (a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency). The role starts Monday 15 December 2025, is for 1 year, and pays £11,778 in the first year. Successful applicants will undergo right-to-work checks, a DBS application and an internal social media check.

Potential full-time employment may be available on successful completion.

  • Willingness/ability to work the stated hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 10:00am and 3:00pm to 6:00pm (30 hours per week).

£11,778 per year

Pay & Benefits

£11,778 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices applies.
