This Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship places you with St John Payne Catholic School where you will work alongside the school's IT team on a Support Technician pathway. Most time is spent working on the job handling staff ICT help requests, setting up and relocating classroom equipment, replacing peripherals, maintaining inventories, performing routine checks, and supporting network and device connections.

You will study with CHELMSFORD COLLEGE and follow the Information Communications Technician (level 3) standard. Training includes at least six hours off-the-job training per week, a combination of workplace and virtual delivery, and preparation for end-point assessment.

Course content covers fault finding, basic scripting (e. g. , PowerShell, Linux), network and device maintenance, data protection, and safe working practices.

The apprenticeship starts Thursday 4 December 2025 in Chelmsford (Patching Hall Lane, CM1 4BS). Hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (37 hours per week). Apprentices who complete the Level 3 standard may be considered for full-time employment by the organisation.

The role requires GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 4) and a successful DBS check; one position is available.
