This Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician apprenticeship at South Bank Colleges provides hands-on training in maintaining and repairing automated and engineered systems. The programme covers electrical, electronic and mechanical systems, control and diagnostic techniques, and the use of testing and measuring tools to ensure equipment functionality and safety.

Learners will develop skills in reading technical documentation, planning and carrying out maintenance activities, diagnosing and repairing faults, and applying preventative maintenance methods. Progress is assessed through practical observations, written assessments, interviews and a portfolio of evidence, with a final End-Point Assessment (EPA) comprised of observation with questions and an interview underpinned by the portfolio.

The course is delivered at London South Bank Technical College - Nine elms. Successful completion supports progression into roles such as Field Service Technician, Maintenance Engineer or Mechatronics Technician and can lead to higher-level qualifications, including progression to a Level 6 degree at LSBU or other universities.
