Level 3 Surveying Technician Apprenticeship

The Level 3 Surveying Technician Apprenticeship at South Bank Colleges provides hands-on skills and technical knowledge to work effectively as a professional surveying technician within the construction industry. Apprentices learn to collect and analyse data from inspections and site visits, take accurate measurements, meet with clients and other professionals, and undertake costings and valuations using research data.

The programme develops knowledge across data collection and management, health and safety compliance, construction technology and materials performance, relevant law (including standard building or property contracts), and professional skills such as time management, communication and negotiation. There are opportunities to specialise in areas such as valuations and appraisals, building surveys, tendering and procurement, and cost planning.

Apprentices are assessed through written and online exams, practical assignments, work-based projects, development reviews and a portfolio of evidence. Completion requires an End Point Assessment (EPA), and apprentices are supported in achieving a Level 3 Diploma in Surveying as a prerequisite to EPA.
