Welcome visitors at Far Ings Visitor Centre, share wildlife information and help run its gift shop. You’ll get role-specific and in-house training, with a regular three-hour commitment and tasks including restocking and rotating stock.
Wilder Welcome Volunteers at Far Ings Visitor Centre help give visitors a warm welcome and support them to make the most of their time at the reserve. The role combines customer-facing volunteering with wildlife engagement, so it suits someone who enjoys talking to people about nature and sharing knowledge about the local area.
Volunteers spend a morning or afternoon at the Visitor Centre, helping with information, interpretation and the small retail offer. Typical tasks include welcoming visitors, explaining the work of Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, sharing information about Far Ings’ wildlife, and helping in the wildlife gift shop, including restocking and rotating stock.
The role is ongoing and asks for a regular three-hour commitment, as often as desired. Volunteers receive role-specific and in-house training, and become part of the Public Engagement & Communications team.
It is a good fit for people with an interest in wildlife, some retail experience, and confidence speaking with the public.
Free volunteering opportunity.
