Apprentices will spend around 80% of their time working with their employer in workshop, field and site-based roles and 20% in off-the-job training (college blocks, internal training, assignments and revision).
Training is delivered in partnership with SMB College and includes a target 24 weeks of college attendance (organised into two-week blocks).
Apprentices will work toward a Level 3 Lift Truck and Powered Access Engineering Technician Apprenticeship, complete an end-point assessment, and must achieve Functional Skills in Maths and English if not already held. The role involves technical training, practical workplace responsibilities, mandatory internal product and systems training, and regular progression reviews with an Apprenticeship Development Officer and SMB College.
This programme is aimed at school leavers with GCSEs (or equivalent) and those interested in long-term careers in engineering and intralogistics. Applicants should be willing and able to travel to Leicester for college blocks and to work at Linde sites (listed location: Basingstoke).
Progression routes include qualified engineer and specialist technical roles.
