LITE Regal Education's Film Academy is an in-person summer school programme taught by film professionals that gives teenagers hands-on practical training in all aspects of film production. The course covers development, pre-production, production, post-production and distribution, and students learn camera work, lighting, scriptwriting, editing and VFX.

Participants produce group films and an individual short film and receive an academic report and a graduation certificate upon completion.

The programme includes industry-linked field visits (examples cited: visits to Prime Focus / DNEG and the YouTube Space, and a Warner Bros. Studio Tour), practical workshops using professional HD cameras and video-editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut), and assessment of student films.

A structured social programme and cultural excursions (including coach trips) run alongside lessons, with campus accommodation (single en-suite rooms available), meals included and pastoral support from dedicated staff.

Applications require a 15% deposit (or full payment) at submission and the remaining balance 60 days before the course. The course is explicitly for students aged 15-18 (must meet the stated age rule); places are limited and a signed parental/guardian consent is required for successful applicants.

Qualification Outcome

Graduation certificate and academic report; stated gain of 3.5 credits or 7.5 ECTS (subject to acceptance by your institution).

Participation Fee

£5,495

The cost of one LITE Regal Summer School programme is £5,495. Deposit of 15% of course fees (or full payment) is required when submitting an application. Remaining balance is due no later than 60 days prior to the start of the course.
