This LSE public event explores how frontier technologies such as AI, robotics, nano and quantum computing can be used to drive positive change while reducing the risks of harm. The discussion focuses on the social, economic and political consequences of technological change, and on the choices being made now about how new technologies are developed, deployed and governed.
The event is part of LSE’s ‘Six challenges for the social sciences’ series and is hosted by the Data Science Institute. It features Professor Larry Kramer as chair, with contributions from Professor Helen Margetts, Professor Luis Garicano and Professor Patrick Sturgis.
Audience members can attend on campus or register to watch the event online through LSE Live. A recording is also expected to be made available afterwards.
