Siemens Energy's Machining Technician Apprentice (Level 3) is a 4-year paid apprenticeship based in Newcastle upon Tyne, where you'll develop practical machining skills while working on real production projects. You will learn to read and interpret technical drawings, program and set CNC machines, operate machining equipment, and follow business processes and quality procedures.
Training begins with a Level 2 NVQ Foundation qualification at the company's Training Centre and continues with a Level 3 BTEC at college on day release, progressing to a Level 3 NVQ alongside workplace placements. This role is aimed at school leavers and students with GCSEs (or predicted GCSEs) in Maths, English Language and a Science subject.
Apprentices will work closely with experienced machinists and engineers, assisting with machine setup, quality checks and safe operation, while developing problem-solving and collaborative working skills. The apprenticeship includes an annual incremental salary (circa £15,500+), pension contributions, holiday entitlement and access to salary sacrifice benefits.
