This is a supervised medical volunteer summer program for high school students taking place in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica (Tamarindo/Liberia). Participants work alongside MEDLIFE doctors and medical professionals to set up and run mobile medical clinics, rotating through workstations such as medical, public health, and pharmacy.
The program combines practical healthcare service with cultural immersion and adventure activities.
Students will complete service projects and MEDLIFE development work that support rural communities, earning 35 service hours and receiving a certificate of completion. Groups are kept small (up to 24 participants) and led by a professional guide.
Accommodation is in basic hotels and meals are provided; recreational activities include zip-lining, surfing lessons, catamaran snorkel cruises, and other local excursions.
The program is intended to build practical skills, cultural sensitivity, and awareness of global health challenges for teenagers. Logistics such as airport pickup/dropoff are coordinated by the admissions team; families follow the booking process (deposit, enrolment form, final payment) as outlined on the booking page.
