National Manufacturing Day is Make UK’s annual UK-wide open house for manufacturing. Each year, manufacturers across the country open their doors to welcome members of the public, including students, schools, colleges and local communities, for a behind-the-scenes look at how factories and sites operate.
The day is designed to showcase modern manufacturing, the range of skilled jobs available, and the many routes into the sector, including apprenticeships and career development opportunities. Participating businesses can host anything from a short tour to a fuller programme of activities, while Make UK provides resources to help promote and organise events.
Visitors can find participating sites through the open day listings and explore what manufacturing careers could look like in practice.
