Use online mapping tools to plan a beaver survey in your local area, identify signs left in riparian landscapes, and learn to monitor beavers respectfully. Complete the course for a CPD certificate.

Join the Mammal Society for an interactive online course focused on the ecology of the Eurasian Beaver and how to identify the field signs they leave behind. The session is designed to help participants build confidence in recognising beaver activity across Britain and understanding how these animals interact with their habitats.

The course covers beaver ecology, the distinctive signs and features they leave in riparian landscapes, and practical ways to spot and interpret evidence in the field. Participants will also learn how to conduct a beaver survey in their local area using online mapping tools, along with tips for monitoring beavers respectfully and understanding local populations.

The training is delivered in partnership with Beaver Trust and is led by course leaders with expertise in conservation, ecology and land management.

It is an entry-level course, so it is suitable for people with little to no prior knowledge of the subject. A CPD certificate will be available on completion, and concession tickets are offered for people in education or on a low income.
