Train with Lee Jenkins, founder of the South Wales Otters Trust, to explore otter biology, ecology and conservation. Head into the field to practise identifying signs of otter presence, and learn about legislation and habitat protection. A CPD certificate is available on request.

Join Lee Jenkins, founder of the South Wales Otters Trust, for an introduction to the world of otters. This in-person training session is designed to give participants a clear and accessible overview of otter biology, ecology and field identification, with no prior knowledge required.

The course explores the ecology of otters in depth, including their behaviour, lifecycle and the role they play in healthy freshwater ecosystems. It also covers how to recognise signs of otter presence in the field, alongside legislation and conservation measures that help protect the species and its habitats.

Alongside the classroom-style elements, attendees take part in a practical fieldwork session to put their new knowledge into practice. The course is suitable for anyone who wants to build confidence in mammal surveying and conservation, and attendees may also have the chance to join an otter monitoring and conservation programme with the South Wales Otter Trust.

A CPD certificate can be provided on request.
