Create original 2D art inspired by wild mammals from the British Isles, then submit it online in categories spanning portraits, artivism and mammal stories like zines or short comics. Judges pick category winners and one overall winner; AI-generated and copied work aren’t allowed.
Mammal Society’s annual art competition invites wildlife artists across the British Isles to create and submit work inspired by wild mammals. The competition is split into themed categories, including mammal portraits and behaviour, mammal artivism, and mammal stories such as zines and short comics.
For each category, the judges select a winner and may also award Highly Commended pieces, with an overall winner chosen for the competition as a whole.
Entries are submitted online through PollUnit, and the competition is open each winter. Artwork must be original, 2D and based on at least one wild mammal from the British Isles. A wide range of media is accepted, from pencil and charcoal to digital art, printmaking and mixed media, but AI-generated work and copied material are not allowed.
The competition is suitable for artists who want to showcase creative responses to wildlife while following clear ethical and copyright rules.
