Explore Shakespeare’s plays and world through subject-focused talks and activities, including food in Hamlet, advice to the players, and a later talk on Shakespeare’s London, the city and theatre.

St Mary’s University, London is hosting a Shakespeare Masterclass Day for students, bringing together a day of subject-focused sessions on Shakespeare’s work and world. The event is designed as an academic enrichment experience, with a programme that moves through a series of talks and activities exploring themes from Shakespeare’s plays and the historical and cultural context in which they were written.

The schedule includes a welcome and introduction, a session on food in Hamlet, advice to the players, lunch, and a later talk on Shakespeare’s London, the city and theatre. It is intended for school groups, and teachers who want to bring a cohort of students are invited to contact the university directly.

The day takes place at St Mary’s University in Twickenham and runs from late morning through to the afternoon. It is a good fit for students interested in English literature, drama, and wider humanities study.
