This is a national poster competition run by MathsCareers (IMA) for 2025/26 asking entrants to create an A4 poster that explains how mathematics is important in medicine and healthcare, focusing on one career or topic. Posters may be computer-made, hand-drawn or a mixture, but must be the original work of the entrant and must not use AI-generated writing or images.
Entrants are advised to consult the Guidance PowerPoint for judging criteria and tips.
The competition is judged in two age categories: Years 7-9 (younger category) and Years 10-3 (older category). Judging criteria include visual appeal, ability to inspire young people, quality of research and effort, accuracy, and originality.
Prizes include A3100 Amazon vouchers for category winners and A330 Amazon vouchers for up to three highly commended entries per category. Winning and highly commended posters will be published on the MathsCareers site.
Entries must be submitted via the entry mechanisms on the MathsCareers website. The closing date for entries is 28 February 2026 (midnight). Winners will be announced on the MathsCareers website in March/April 2026, and individual winners will be notified before the end of March 2026.
