Maynooth University Department of Anthropology presents its 2026 Annual Special Guest Seminar featuring Dr Gillian Tett, Provost of King’s College, Cambridge. The seminar, titled “From Anthropology Intelligence to Artificial Intelligence: Why the World needs Anthropology now more than ever”, will explore the role of anthropological insight in understanding and shaping responses to contemporary challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
The event takes place on Thursday 7 May 2026 at Renehan Hall, South Campus, Maynooth University, starting at 16:30 (local time), followed by a wine reception. The seminar is presented by the Department of Anthropology and is suitable for university students, staff, researchers, and members of the public with an interest in anthropology, social science, and technology.
