Deadline passed 12 days agoARCHIVED

Join Cavendish Nuclear within Babcock International on a 4-year Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship based in Warrington. You will work predominantly on civil nuclear projects (including support to new build and decommissioning), gaining hands-on experience with CAD, 3D modelling, mechanical calculations and producing engineering documentation to national and international standards.

Day-to-day tasks include defining design requirements, producing detailed drawings, preparing equipment specifications and supporting assembly, testing and operational teams.

Your training is delivered through the University of Central Lancashire on the Product Design and Development Engineer (Degree) (level 6) standard. The programme uses blended learning: semester three-day face-to-face blocks followed by weekly online sessions, combining academic study with practical application.

On successful completion you will be awarded a BEng (Hons) in Professional Engineering (Product Design) and a Level 6 apprenticeship qualification.

The apprenticeship is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, and starts on 1 September 2026. Salary progression is published for each year of the programme. Many places are subject to security clearance; you must be able to achieve BPSS and SC clearance.

The role is based at Babcock’s Warrington site (WA3 6YD) with placements on wider project sites as required.
