Curious about building the machines of tomorrow? Join The University of Sheffield’s Mechanical Engineering subject talk to explore course content, meet academics, and see how the degree boosts your skills, employability and uni experience.

The University of Sheffield's Mechanical Engineering subject talk is part of its September 2026 undergraduate open day. It gives prospective students a chance to learn more about the Mechanical Engineering course and to hear directly about the subject area within the university's Engineering and Computer Science offer.

Visitors can pre-book the talk as part of their open day booking, and the university notes that you can book places for yourself and up to one additional guest. The session is held in The Diamond, one of the university's main engineering buildings, and is designed to help applicants understand what studying Mechanical Engineering at Sheffield involves.

Two Mechanical Engineering talks are listed across the day, giving students flexibility when planning their visit. The talk is a good opportunity to ask questions, explore the subject in more detail, and decide whether the course and university are the right fit for you.
