This two-week Media Studies summer school at Cambridge University is designed specifically for 13-15 year olds. Students explore films, TV, games and other media through interactive lessons, storytelling workshops and small-group projects led by experienced tutors from journalism, fine arts and animation backgrounds.
The programme emphasises critical thinking, creativity and communication skills.
Students may attend as day (non-residential) or residential participants. Residential attendees stay in college accommodation (Fitzwilliam, Murray Edwards or Gonville and Caius Colleges) with full-board meals; day students follow a full timetable of lessons and activities and return home each evening.
The programme includes excursions to cultural sites and structured enrichment sessions to complement classroom learning.
Each participant receives a certificate of achievement, written tutor feedback and a personalised letter of recommendation. Scheduled Heathrow airport transfers are included for residential students on official arrival/departure days (staff present 09:00:00 to 16:00), and safeguarding/support staff are on-site throughout the course.
