Curious about a career in dentistry? Join The Medic Life's free UK dentistry work experience to explore specialities, get mentor feedback, attend NHS‑endorsed virtual workshops and secure in‑person shadowing—build skills, strengthen your uni application and connect with dentists.

CLOSED THIS CYCLE

The Medic Life runs a UK-wide dentistry work experience programme offering free online and in-person opportunities to help aspiring dental students explore the profession. Activities include free full-day workshops with talks from dentists across specialties, virtual dental work experience endorsed by NHS initiatives, and links to in-person shadowing at GP/hospital/dental clinics.

The programme emphasises reflection, mentoring, and guided feedback to help students use their experiences in personal statements and interviews. Workshops and virtual placements are promoted as free and open to students across the UK, while in-person shadowing placements are arranged through local contacts and may have separate costs depending on the provider.

The Medic Life also offers mentoring, reflection worksheets, and one-on-one feedback after placements. They maintain waiting lists and run multiple sessions due to high demand. The scheme is aimed at school students preparing for dental school (Year 10-13 and older), with virtual options available for younger students (14+).

Formal clinical placements commonly require participants to be 16+, and some supervised observational roles are available for Years 10-11.

Qualification Outcome

Certificate of completion for some virtual programmes (where explicitly provided).
