The MGL Group Scholarship, funded in partnership with Northumbria University, offers a cash award to support one incoming full-time undergraduate student at the Newcastle upon Tyne campus for September 2026 entry. The scholarship provides £1,500 each year for the first three years of study (a total of £4,500) to help enhance the recipient’s learning experience.
Applicants must meet at least one of the specified access criteria (live in a low higher-education-progression neighbourhood in the North East, identify as BAME, or have declared a disability/long-term condition/learning difference on UCAS). Additional eligibility includes being a UK/Home applicant, being self-funded (not sponsored), applying for government student finance, and choosing Northumbria as your firm choice by 30 June 2026.
UCAS data and postcode checks will be used to verify claims. Selection is by competitive written application via the online form (answer up to 3,000 characters describing career aspirations and how the scholarship will help).
Applications close 16:00 on 3 July 2026; outcomes will be communicated after results day in August 2026. The scholarship is paid in instalments and may be withdrawn if required conditions (e. g.
, thank-you letter, progress updates, enrolment/progression) are not met.

Awarded as cash: £1,500 per year for years 1-3 (total £4,500). Payments scheduled as 25% of the total in November 2026, 25% in February 2027 and 50% in May 2027. Scholarship payments are conditional on progression to the next year of study and will not be paid during a placement year.
