This programme usually runs again each year — keep an eye out for the next round, or explore what's live now.
Want insider access to microelectronics? Join small-group roundtables to ask senior engineers real questions, build sector-ready skills, explore career routes and connect with mentors across electronics, electrical engineering and photonics.
The Talent Foundry is a new mentoring and skills experience within Microelectronics UK 2026, designed to help students and early-career engineers explore routes into the microelectronics sector. Instead of a formal lecture or panel, it uses small-group roundtables where attendees can ask questions directly and hear honest advice from senior industry professionals and mentors with different backgrounds and specialisms.
It is aimed at people studying electronics, electrical engineering, photonics, computer science or related disciplines, as well as those in the first few years of their careers. The format is built to create real conversations about careers in semiconductors, photonics, embedded systems and beyond, helping participants understand what employers look for and what skills are most in demand.
Student registration is free and includes access to the wider event, including the exhibition, networking areas and the other conference stages. For anyone considering a future in microelectronics, the Talent Foundry offers a practical way to connect with the industry and get guidance from people already working in it.
