Mock Trial for Middle Schoolers at UCLA is a three-week summer Trial Advocacy program designed for middle school students (ages 11-14) interested in exploring the legal system. The course introduces participants to courtroom roles and practical trial techniques through hypothetical cases and interactive exercises.
Students practise persuasive opening statements, jury selection, witness testimony, cross-examination, objection handling and closing arguments to build public speaking, critical thinking and strategic reasoning skills.
The program is hosted on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles and offers both residential (boarding) and day options. Tuition typically includes academic classes, housing for residential programs, two meals per day (lunch and dinner), supervised afternoon/evening activities, and transportation for included excursions.
Detailed visa guidance and a Letter of Introduction are provided for international students; a mandatory international registration fee applies to non-U. S. residents.
Students receive detailed performance summaries and instructor feedback after the program; credit-bearing classes provide grade reports and instructions for requesting transcripts. Prospective participants must complete the Summer Institute application and follow Best Parents' enrolment and payment process to secure a place.
