Modern Ballet: Senior/Vocational (ages 14+)

This five-day, in-person summer school (Modern Ballet: Senior/Vocational) is for young people aged approximately 14 and over who wish to strengthen and develop classical ballet technique, repertoire and contemporary dance. The course is aimed at students who aspire to or are currently in vocational dance training and includes daily classical technique classes with pointework and virtuosity.

Students attend structured classes led by RCS School of Dance staff and guest teachers, covering classical repertoire, contemporary dance, solos, creative/choreography and conditioning. Classes are accompanied by pianists/percussionists.

Photographs by a professional ballet photographer are offered for use in audition applications or portfolios. The course runs at the Wallace Studios at Speirs Locks in Glasgow. It is offered in two separate weeks (attendees may book one or both weeks) with daily hours of 10:00-16:00.

Course fees do not include accommodation or meals; accommodation at local providers (e. g. , Base Glasgow) is recommended and must be organised by the student.
