Music Business 101 is a three-week summer course hosted at the University of Texas at Austin designed to introduce high-school students to music industry event management and business operations. The program covers marketing, budgeting, artist management, production and logistics for concerts and festivals, and includes hands-on projects led by university-approved instructors and local industry experts.
Students participate in field excursions to Austin venues and build a portfolio through practical assignments. The program is offered in both residential (boarding) and day formats with session dates shown for June 28, 2026 to July 17, 2026.
Residential tuition includes housing, two meals per day (varies by program), and transportation for included activities; supplemental and international registration fees apply as stated on the page. On completion students receive a Course Completion Certificate and a Letter of Recognition from the Summer Institute UT Austin program.
