mydentist Dentistry Work Experience

Explore the world of dentistry with mydentist in this virtual work experience programme. You will look at the range of roles found in a modern dental practice, including dentists, dental nurses, treatment coordinators and practice managers, while learning what it takes to deliver excellent patient care.

The programme also introduces the essential skills and attitudes needed to work in dentistry, alongside the different pathways that can lead into the profession.

Across the modules, you will discover how mydentist works within the wider dental industry, what clinical roles involve day to day, and how dental nursing supports both patients and practitioners. You will also find out how practices are managed, how treatment coordination works, and what leadership and organisational skills are needed behind the scenes.

The experience includes hands-on activities, real-life insights and expert guidance, with employability support such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, CV writing and interview tips.

The programme contains over eight hours of content, with around ten hours of work in total spread across a two-week period. It is designed for young people who are curious about healthcare or seriously considering a future in dentistry, and you will receive a certificate of completion when you finish.
