Apply NowWant to build with real NASA data this summer? Join the NASA Hack Club Stardance Challenge to build apps, simulations or hardware, connect with peers and mentors, and boost university and career-ready skills.
The NASA Hack Club Stardance Challenge is an online summer-long project challenge (June 1-Sept. 30, 2026) inviting students ages 13 to 18 to build creative projects using real NASA mission data. Participants can create anything from code and apps to electronics, circuit boards, models, and simulations, drawing on datasets and mission materials from programs such as Artemis and the James Webb Space Telescope.
Hack Club provides a community-driven environment with peer and expert reviews, while NASA supplies publicly available datasets, multimedia resources, and virtual sessions with subject-matter experts. This challenge is aimed at high-school students (Grades 9-12) with interests in computer science, mathematics, and technology.
Entrants are encouraged to explore project options, view prize information, and RSVP for reminders on the Stardance Challenge website. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, opportunities to showcase work, and connections to space science and engineering careers via virtual interactions with NASA experts.
